ATTENTION CLASS OF 2009

Neal Jacob Photography is looking for Senior Ambassadors to be our representatives at high schools in Northern Virginia. Responsibilities of the Senior Ambassador include actively promoting Neal Jacob Photography to Seniors and Juniors in your school.  Senior Ambassadors will receive their Senior Portrait Session at no charge and qualify for discounts on prints and other products.  Refer your friends and earn credits redeemable for VISA Gift Cards.

Interested? Send us an e-mail describing yourself and why you would make a good Senior Ambassador. Make sure you include: Name of your school,  activities (band, Drill Team, JROTC, sports) you are involved in, a current photo, MySpace Page and/or Facebook Page. If you are under 18, you must have permission of your parents or guardian.

Last Thursday, I woke up at 4 AM. At 4:30 AM I heard non-stop sirens. About 5:30 AM and 6 AM I heard a helicopter overhead. I knew something very bad had happened. Then I heard the news. A local family lost their home to a fire. Not only did they lose their home, but three members of the Cook Family did not make it. Two daughters died in the fire. Their father died at the hospital. This is in my community. I was thinking, what can I do for this family? I have been planning Portraits in the Park for a few weeks. I am going to give 100% of all session fees collected during Portraits in the Park to the Cook Family. On Saturday, I visited Melissa and her husband Matt. Melissa signed up for my new Bellies & Babies Program. A few weeks ago, my parents took the whole family and me to the National Air and Space Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center next to Washington-Dulles International Airport in Dulles, Virginia.

This was my very first trip to the museum and it certainly will not be my last. I’ll have to go back without the family some time and just take my time looking around.

The Udvar-Hazy Center is home to The Concorde, The Enola Gay, The Space Shuttle (Enterprise) and more. I originally saw The Enterprise at Kennedy Space Center when I was about nine or ten years old. My son will be seven in July. Wow! Almost 30 years later I got to show my son the Space Shuttle. When we went to the gift shop, he picked up a toy space shuttle, which was the exact same model I owned when I was his age.
