Just a few months ago, so it seems, Nathanael started growing his 2nd set of teeth. Since about August, he has had two adult teeth growing in behind his bottom baby teeth. A few weeks ago, those baby teeth started loosening up and Nathanael would wiggle them a little. He wanted them to come out and he was going to pull them out. He wanted Mommy & Daddy to pull them out. They were not quite ready to come out and we told him that they would come out, when they were ready to come out.
Thursday night was that time for “Tooth #1″. Nathanael decided it was time for them to come out and he pulled out “Tooth #1″. Ironically, this tooth was not the loosest of the two teeth. We are not going to be doing the whole “Tooth Fairy” thing with our kids, but since Nathanael just wanted to throw the tooth away I gave him a quarter.

Not wanting to be out done, “Tooth #2″ decided to come out on its own on Saturday night. So, Nathanael is 50 cents richer and I have two of his teeth sitting in an old film container on my dresser.
What do you do with your children’s first lost teeth? Do you save them or toss them? If you save them, then what do you do with them?

I save them. All of them! I might be just weird though, or overly sappy and sentimental, lol! I save each tooth lost in a ziploc baggie, and I also put a post-it inside each bag that says the date, child’s name, a little story about the way it was lost, and which tooth it was. Of course my kids will probably think this is totally gross and crazy when they are older, but for now they like looking in the “tooth box” and reading about each lost tooth.

I always wanted to keep mine in a glass of water, to see if they would grow
Luckily my mom made me throw them away! Cute pics!!

I put each one in a tiny plastic bag and label the date and the # order. Then put those in another bag and put them in the top of my closet.
