Checking in with Nate

I have been photographing Nate since … well, since he was in utero! Okay, I really couldn’t photograph Nate in utero, but I did do his mother’s Pregnancy Portrait Session. Nate is now six-months old. I thought I would leave you with a couple photos.

Search for The Great Pumpkin

My parents were visiting last weekend and after The Festival of Leaves in Front Royal, we took the kids to Hartland Orchard in Markham. The Pumpkin Patch was just a small patch and did not have a hayride, but the kids had a blast anyway.

The rule was that they had to be able to carry their pumpkin out of the orchard:

Nate is 3 months old

Taking pictures of kids - a lesson

Okay, these (un)willing volunteers are actually my own kids, but I wanted to illustrate some basic kid portrait tips. My kids looked rather nice in their church clothes, so I complimented them on how nice they looked and asked them if they wanted their picture taken.

First Haircut

Charis is almost four and she hasn’t had her hair cut…Well, not until last week.

The other day, big brother Nathanael decided that he would use his craft scissors to play hair-stylist…on his sister’s hair! It was the week before Easter and we didn’t want Charis looking like she got in a fight with the clippers, so off to the local hair salon for repairs.
